Incorporated in 2022, the Tourism Nanaimo Society operates as a non-profit organization and serves as the designated Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for the City of Nanaimo. Our mission is to shape and promote the city’s tourism landscape through the development and implementation of a multi-year Destination Strategy. Additionally, we manage specialized strategies for Business and Meetings Tourism, Sport Tourism, and more recently, operate the community’s official Visitor Centre.

Visitor Centre Location
Located in the heart of downtown’s Arts & Culture district, the Visitor Centre is easily accessible from ferries and float planes. Friendly staff are ready to help you explore the best of Nanaimo and Vancouver Island. Shared with the Vancouver Island Conference Centre and Nanaimo Museum, it’s steps from shops, galleries, and the scenic Maffeo Sutton Park, an ideal starting point for any visit.
Visitor Summer Kiosk
Centrally located on the seawall of one of the highest trafficked parks in Nanaimo, the Maffeo Sutton Kiosk allows the Visitor Services team to meet our visitors in the heart of the action. Whether you’re attending one of the many community events happening in the park or are just out for a leisurely stroll by the ocean, the Visitor Services team will be positioned here from the start of June to the end of August, ready to help visitors with all their travel needs!
