If you’re looking for results and relaxation, Pure Spa has entered the chat.

This boutique Nanaimo spa is known for advanced skincare, expert massage, and a calm, refined experience that keeps clients coming back (and telling their friends). Personalized treatments, consistent results, and a welcoming, professional vibe… it’s kind of their thing.

They’re also a Green Circle Certified spa, recycling up to 95% of their waste and offsetting their carbon impact, because self-care should feel good in more ways than one.

As part of our Nanaimo Business Feature Series, we’re chatting with local businesses to hear their stories, what keeps them here, and how you can support them.

What inspired you to start your business in Nanaimo?

The sense of support from our community was definitely a factor in starting a business in Nanaimo.

Are there any positive specific customer stories or interactions that stand out to you that have taken place over the years?

Being in the personal service industry, we have the opportunity to connect with our guests in a very meaningful way, daily. What sticks out the most to me in 5 years in business are how often I'm told by our guests that they feel safe, welcome and very cared for in my Spa. This means the world to me!

The other piece that is top of mind for me is after our COVID shutdown (I had only been open for 3 days before the shut down), our City rallied around us and kept us busy and ultimately going! I'm still amazed actually that people who had never been to a Spa, decided to come in for service just to show support.

What’s one thing in your store that’s a great gift?

Our customized makeup palettes by Elate, Dermalogica skin care kits and gift certificates for services!

What are some of your favourite Nanaimo businesses?

Quintessential, Rewind MedSpa, Kinsu Chocolate, Beyond Flooring, Knead Massage Therapy

What would you say to someone considering starting their own business in Nanaimo?

Do it!! This city is growing and loves to support local!

How do you see your business contributing to the community in Nanaimo?

I try to spread the love - I support the Vancouver Island Symphony by co-sponsoring a performance, donations to SeaWolves men's cancer support group with gift cards for their silent auction, donation to Nurses week -  gift cards as part of their gift basket, donations to Wellington Secondary Grad - Skin care gift basket for silent auction, and this Dec I am hosting an evening with other local business owners at the Spa to make Comfort kits to donate to Risebridge warming centre for Christmas.

What do you love most about being a part of the Nanaimo business community?

I love how businesses support each other whether with collaborating for events and giveaways or just a simple shoutout and recommendation. We look out for each other :)

At Pure Spa, it’s not just about great skin or a moment of calm, it’s about creating a space where people feel genuinely cared for.

Whether you’re booking in for results, relaxation, or a bit of both, you’re supporting a business that shows up for its community just as much as it does for its clients.

So go ahead, book the facial. Your future self will thank you.
