Nanaimo Art Gallery 150 Commercial Street, Nanaimo

From origami objects that are folded based on remote instructions, to artworks developed through psychic intervention, Trust Fall is an exhibition featuring works by Jon Sasaki and Laura Gildner that celebrates the creative potential of mistakes and miscommunication. Nanaimo Art Gallery offers admission by-donation. Their hours are Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays 12 to 5 pm. Established local tattoo artists Laura (@laura.c.tattoo) and Kara (@crashing.cadence) have partnered up to bring you an Anime Tattoo Flash Day! The event, hosted at Le Jardin Noir (6439 Portsmouth Rd) will feature brand new anime themed pre-drawn flash designs by both artists! You can drop in and wait your turn for a classic flash day experience, or book an appointment in advance so you know exactly when your artist will be ready for you. Snacks will be on hand all day, and the tattoo studio features a lovely and comfortable seating area. Designs featured are from Kara (@crashing.cadence) and can be booked at crashingcadence.com/flash while Laura’s designs will be revealed on her IG soon. Contact each artist directly to book an appointment.
