May 21 @ 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm
This event is part of a new AFN summer initiative: outdoor community picnics designed to bring together francophones and francophiles from the region in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This first gathering promises to be unforgettable, thanks to the presence of the Radio-Canada team and a rich and engaging program.
Program highlights:
- Live broadcast of Panorama. The show will be aired through speakers, so all visitors can enjoy the atmosphere while picnicking by the sea.
- Thematic roundtables, featuring local francophone personalities, including Joëlle Rabu.
- Interview with members of the AFN team, who will present upcoming projects, including the one that led to Nanaimo being recognized as the second “Communauté francophone accueillante” (Welcoming Francophone Community) in British Columbia.
- Local honey tasting, with prizes to be won.
- Live music performances by two francophone artists from Nanaimo and the surrounding area (names to be announced).
The public is invited to bring blankets, picnics, friends, and good cheer to enjoy this festive, inclusive, and free community event.
