Voted Nanaimo’s Best Farmers’ Market, this small-town gem draws big crowds—and it’s easy to see why!
Nestled in the picturesque village of Cedar, just 15 minutes south of Nanaimo, the market is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere. Families gather on the grassy fields of Woodbank Primary School to enjoy the best of Vancouver Island, with free live music on the Cedar Stage. The stage is quickly becoming a crowd favorite, offering free seating and tents for shelter so visitors can relax and enjoy the performances rain or shine.
What began nearly 30 years ago as a handful of local farmers selling produce and preserves by the roadside has grown into a thriving market with 100 stalls, making it one of the Island’s most beloved destinations.
After a peaceful drive through the countryside, visitors are greeted by an impressive array of local vendors offering everything from fresh produce and baked goods to hot meals, icy treats, and unique artisan crafts.
