Vancouver Island is a haven for artisans, which makes finding that perfectly unique gift for your friend, colleague, or family member incredibly easy. Whether it’s gourmet treats, handmade goods, artisanal soaps, or personalized trinkets, there’s literally something for everyone on your list—most of which are sourced from local resources and ingredients found right here on the West Coast. With the holidays fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to check out what some of the local creators have to offer.

This year, while sustainably top of mind for many, why not try giving something that uses local resources and supports local artisans at the same time? Thanks to great initiatives like The Vancouver Island Market, it’s easier to do than you might think.

The Annual Vancouver Island Market

The Vancouver Island Market is founded on the idea of sustainable shopping options and they’ve given us a sneak-peak at what to look forward to at this year’s upcoming holiday market. Each year, they host hundreds of artisans and local businesses for a bustling 4-day event. This year, they’re back and bigger than ever! Here are just some of the boots you can look forward to seeing at this years’ event:

Coastal Hive

A small team of three founded Coastal Hive on the basis of sustainability before profit, price, and convenience. While holding fast to these beliefs, they have created a fully reusable line of eco-products, made with the intent of supporting local and also being fun and practical. Their wraps and bags come in an assortment of fun designs and colours, good for any occasion!
