Morgan Davis 2004 JUNO Award for Blues Album
Morgan Davis (ON) For nearly 60 years, Morgan Davis has been a devoted bluesman, performing across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. Originally from Detroit, he was steeped in rhythm and blues before moving to Toronto, where he absorbed the Chicago and country blues scenes. Influenced by legends like Muddy Waters and Son House, Davis developed a distinctive style blending traditional 1920s/30s blues with original songs full of wit and grit. A Juno-winning songwriter, his work includes the Colin James-covered classic “Why’d You Lie?” Now based in Nova Scotia, Davis continues to tour solo, wielding electric guitars and a three-string cigar-box with soulful finesse.
