Play It Forward: Sports Equipment Drive & Community Giveaway!

We’re a group of fourth-year Vancouver Island University Nursing Students completing our community practicum with the City of Nanaimo’s Recreation Prescription Program — and we’re excited to invite you to Play It Forward!

Our Goal: To make recreation more accessible for youth and families across Nanaimo by collecting new or gently used sports equipment and giving it back to the community. Together, we can reduce financial barriers, promote active living, and strengthen community connections through play.
Equipment Drop-Off Days: Bring your gently used or new sports equipment donations to:
VIU Parking Lot U (in front of the Windsor Trades Building, Wakesiah Ave)

Wednesday, October 29 | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Community Giveaway Day: Families are invited to come pick up equipment for their kids — by donation — ensuring everyone has a chance to get active and have fun!
